Smyrna, GA September 1, 2011- The FDA has approved new once-daily HIV pill Complera. Complera is manufactured by Gilead and is the second complete HIV treatment in a single once- daily pill. Gilead’s Atripla was the first single tablet regimen approved for HIV back in 2006.
Complera is a combination of existing HIV therapies Truvada and Edurant. Complera is approved as a first line treatment for adults with HIV infection who have not yet begun treatment with any other HIV medications. (http://www.webmd.com/hiv-aids/news)
